O Ministério da Defesa da Armênia afirmou que as forças do Azerbaijão abriram fogo de morteiro contra posições do Exército Armênio no território fronteiriço perto da aldeia de Yeraskh.
Segundo fontes locais armênias, o chefe da administração da aldeia de Yerash, Rudik Odikyan, foi ferido durante o bombardeio.
“Em 19 de julho, às 18h40, as forças armadas do Azerbaijão bombardearam posições armênias estacionadas na fronteira perto da vila de Yeraskh por várias horas seguidas com armas de fogo de vários calibres. Também foram usados morteiros ”, diz o relatório do ministério.
O ministério acrescentou que a liderança militar do Azerbaijão foi responsável pela recente escalada na região.

Por outro lado, duas horas após o incidente em Yeraskh, o Ministério da Defesa do Azerbaijão informou sobre o bombardeio do distrito de Sadarak de Nakhichevan pelas forças armênias.
Nenhuma perda foi relatada.
“No dia 19 de julho, às 20:50, as posições do Exército do Azerbaijão na direção do distrito de Sadarak da República Autônoma de Nakhchivan foram novamente bombardeadas com armas de vários calibres do território da Armênia”, diz o relatório.

A situação nas regiões fronteiriças está a deteriorar-se continuamente. Trocas de fogo são relatadas diariamente, enquanto o número de vítimas está crescendo. Em meio à escalada em curso, o primeiro-ministro armênio Nikol Pashinyan pediu ajuda à Rússia e ao CSTO para resolver a situação.
